PowerPath Theory of Operations
PowerPath operates between the application and the HBA driver. The application directs I/O operations to the HBA driver. The I/O is intercepted by PowerPath which then sends the I/O to the appropriate path based on current workload and path availability. If the I/O is not deliverable due to a path failure, PowerPath receives the failure and redirects the I/O to another path to the volume. Therefore, PowerPath improves application performance and availability through its path management capabilities.
PowerPath Usability
This course focuses on how to use PowerPath to manage a PowerPath environment. In some cases the PowerPath command line examples have been cropped in order to show the important sections of the command output.
